Operational Readiness Simplified

So, your project is almost closed out. The paint is still wet.

Who is assembling all the information for you to operate and maintain your shiny new equipment?

Are you relying on the OEM manuals? Do you have site specific procedures that need to be developed? Who is developing the isolation plans and safe work method statements?

Do they upload this into your document management system and CMMS?

Do you have local parts suppliers or are you relying on the project team?

Are these in the scope of the project delivery team or is this just assumed to be included?

To what standard and format do you need this information?

Operational Readiness - Turnkey
Operational Readiness - Ready for commissioning
We refer to Operational Readiness as the wide range of activities that help organisations transition from projects through to operations. While this can also include commissioning activities for the project delivery team, we prefer to focus on the usual gaps.:

  • Assembling maintenance and operating information (developing site specific manuals as required)
  • Developing statutory maintenance tasks
  • Compiling fit for purpose maintenance strategies (not relying on standard OEM tasks)
  • Identifying and coordinating spare parts purchases and cataloguing
  • Collecting details for identifying local suppliers
  • Assembling asset registers. Liaising with site master data specialists for uploading into CMMS
  • Undertaking or facilitating RCM processes for new equipment (FMEA, criticality, etc)

We provide support to project teams and maintenance teams to ensure and the project teams have the budget to carry out the work. We help establish budgets for CAPEX and OPEX activities.

More often than not, the project team focus on the project and not the life cycle elements. That’s our speciality. We work with project teams and asset owners to provide the right level of information.
