Released in 2014, the ISO 5500X suite of three standards was developed from the old British PAS 55 standard for Asset Management.
- ISO 55000 – provides the overview of what Asset Management is.
- ISO 55001 – the doing It provides the 73 “shall” statements of what must be included in an Asset Management System. This provides the basis for auditors and those wanting to go through the certification process
- ISO 55002 – recently updated in 2018, this document provides some valuable guidance on how to implement 55001. Some useful examples and direction on what is meant in 55001.

While certification may not be on your company’s radar, the standards have very useful guidance for any organisation. Reeves Group involvement in the standards commenced prior to the release in 2014. We are certified assessors, able to provide assessments on your maturity and help identify gaps in your processes.
We were the project managers and subject matter experts for Australia’s first urban water utility to obtain certification in 2018. We are very proud of our involvement in this milestone and are more than happy to help any organisation along their journey whether be identifying their gaps or going through to certification.
